About me

Hello and welcome to my blog, where I share the goings on in my crazy household.

Brit Mums Live
I’m Emma, originally I’m from a seaside town in Essex, where they serve the best ice cream, have a seafront lined with weathered palm trees and wearing stilettos is essential to everyday living. Now I live in the Cheshire countryside and own a pair of wellington boots (yes I have actually used them).

In the summer of 2013, I finished my journalism degree and was ready to take over the business world, but then found out I was pregnant with my son Oliver before I had even had my graduation ceremony. So plans changed and I went from being a fresh faced graduate to suburban stay – at – home Mum. As plans had already changed, we then decided to go the whole hog and had our second little munchkin Elijah, meaning I went from fresh faced graduate to suburban stay – at – home Mum to suburban stay – at – home Mum of two in under two years.

As I fumble through parenting in a foreign land, I thought I would document it all on my little corner of the internet and share it with the world.

I’ve always been a bit of a dreamer and never stop trying to better myself, thankfully my very wonderful boyfriend is the same and together we are building a better tomorrow for our beautiful little family. He is working on expanding his property development empire and I’ve just finished writing a children’s picture book, so watch this space.

Thanks for stopping by, have a good browse and feel free to leave a comment.

  1. Hi there. Came across your blog and enjoyed reading through some of your posts. I would not have thought you were a young mum at 24. I was 31 having our daughter and I was one of the youngest in my NCT group… That was definitely an eye-opener. Loved the 3am mummy post..boy do I know how that feels as Aliki is only 11 months, so 3am is often party time in addition to cuddle time! Good luck, it’s a tough job but someone has to parent sensibly!

    1. Thank you for taking the time to comment. Sometimes it is so difficult to forget how precious these moments are through the sleep deprivation but one day we will look back on all of the moments and be so thankful for them 🙂
