Since entering motherhood, there have been a few lifestyle changes. I don’t always eat as healthy as I once did – heck – sometimes I miss a meal entirely. I don’t always drink enough water and I certainly don’t get enough sleep. All of these things have taken their toll and it shows no more so than on my skin.

So as I got to bottom of my moisturiser bottle, I decided to take the plunge and look for something else that may (or may not) completely revolutionise my skincare routine and change my tired and dull complexion into a thing of beautiful radiance.

First things first, I needed something that lightened and brightened the circles under my eyes that have been getting progressively darker over the last 18 months. I also needed to consider that my hormones will be up the creek for a while yet (growing human life isn’t easy you know), meaning that I needed something that could combat bouts of oily skin as well as bouts of dry skin. Then finally I wanted something that could help give my skin its ‘glow’ back.

To be fair, that is quite a tall order for a moisturiser. But thankfully Elizabeth Arden has just the product I’ve been looking for in the form of the ‘Visible Difference – Skin Balancing Cream’ for combination skin. The idea is that this moisturiser doesn’t flood or starve your skin of moisture, but instead helps it to achieve its own ideal moisture level, making it perfect for combination skin.

The cream itself isn’t too watery or too heavy on the skin and that means it absorbs extremely well, without leaving too much of a shine. Because it absorbs so quickly, you don’t have to wait 10 minutes before applying your make – up, which is ideal when you have a little one running around. The moisturiser itself comes in a tub that doesn’t have a pump or applicator. I find having a pump limits the amount you use, so you can end up with too little or too much – neither of which is particularly helpful. By not having a pump or applicator, Elizabeth Arden’s – Visible Difference, Skin Balancing Cream lasts a lot longer than other moisturisers meaning that your money goes a lot further. Bonus!

It does take a good week before any real difference starts to appear, but when the effects of this cream start to show, you really do notice the change. My skin is so much brighter and more radiant since using this product. I’ve also noticed the dramatic change in the area under my eyes, which are now nowhere near as dark and because of this I now need to use a lot less concealer during my daily make – up routine (another money saving bonus).

As Elizabeth Arden says, “it is the birthright of every woman to be beautiful” and this Visible Difference, Skin Balancing Cream makes being beautiful that much easier. This is one skincare investment I would highly recommend.

What is your favourite moisturiser? Have you ever tried one from the Elizabeth Arden range? I’d love to know, let me know in the comments, on Twitter, Instagram or on Facebook.
